There are many different types of moth. Grain moth, as suggested in it's name, are found in whole grain or caked material when developing from the larval and pupal stages. If an infestation is found then all commodities should be destroyed and the area fumigated. All cracks, crevices, wall floor angles etc should be applied with a residual insecticide. UVL space spray treatments are also useful controlling an infestation. Clothes (cloth) moth can be considered a serious pest when found feeding on a variety of natural fibre material such as woolens, furs etc. They can also damage carpets that are hidden under heavy furniture. If found it is advised that the infested goods be destroyed and the area treated by applying a residual insecticide and/or a non-staining insecticide is recommended. Monitoring the species might be affective action.
